Gardens by The Bay Spring Surprise Craft Activities

Seek refuge from the heat in one of Gardens by The Bay’s domes mama! Let the bubs try their hands at traditional spring crafts like Chinese Calligraphy, Paper Cutting and Chinese Knotting to bring home, all while being treated to performances and festive songs to light up the atmosphere.

“More Than Monkeys” Exhibition

Looking for fun ways to spend time with the kiddos over the long holiday weekend, mama? Check out the “More than Monkeys” exhibition at the Singapore Philatelic Museum. This small room is exhibiting over 300 stamps from all over the world dating from 1947, all featuring monkeys and apes. How fitting for The Year of the Monkey! This is more than just cute, colourful pictures, too; there’s information on deforestation, poaching and conservation, plus facts about primates and their habitats.

When: Through 25 September 2016, Monday to Sunday, 10am to 7pm (last admission at 6:30pm)

How much: Free for Singaporeans and PRs or $6 for adults and $4 for kids (3-12 yrs). The Museum is FREE to the public on Chinese New Year!

Eat-Train-Love-CNY-Bootcamp

CNY Bootcamp by Eat Train Love

If you haven’t been to any of Eat Train Love’s CNY bootcamps yet, you’re in for a treat mama! Squeeze in some training with three ETL trainers for a morning of fit and fab fun with little ang pows of surprises (more like ‘exercises’!) before you head off for a second day of visiting (and eating).

Istana-CNY-2016

Istana Nature Guided Walk

The Nature Guided Walk during the Istana Chinese New Year Open House is a collaboration between the President’s Office and the National Parks Board, which will showcase the Istana’s flora, fauna and biodiversity. Guided walks are conducted hourly. Look out for signs on the Istana grounds to find out where you can register for the guided walk!

When: Tuesday, 9 February 2016, 10am – 4pm

How much: $2 per child aged 3 years & above, $4 for Singaporeans/PRs aged 13 and above. $10 for foreigners aged 13 & above. Family of 4 package at $12 for Singaporean/PRs and $30 for foreigners. Payment to be made on the spot on the event day.

If you find yourself completing all the CNY visiting early mama, make a day of it and take the kids to the National Gallery! It’s open through the holidays, perfect for exploring all the exhibits and having a meal or two (Aura Restaurant, Aura Sky Louge, Yan, and Smoke & Mirrors will all be open as per usual!). Kiddos in particular might enjoy checking out the Keppel Centre for Art Education.

Chinatown Chinese New Year Countdown Party

Want to be surrounded by the festive cheer on CNY Eve? Usher in the Year of the Monkey with live performances and a rousing countdown celebration with MediaCorp artistes in the heart of Chinatown. Be entertained by the lively performances from a medley of festive songs, skits and interactive games as the countdown party culminates with lively firecrackers and a spectacular fireworks display!

River Hongbao’s 30th Anniversary at Singapore’s iconic floating platform packs a punch this CNY! 2016 is a significant chapter for River Hongbao, and in this auspicious and jubilant period, RHB 2016 has lined up 9 days of fun-filled lights, sights and sounds to celebrate this momentous milestone.
