What’s New in Singapore in July 2024

Illumi: world’s largest illumination event coming to Singapore!

Mark your calendars because Bayfront Event Space is set to be the brightest spot in Singapore this September with Illumi, also known as the world’s biggest light, sound, and multimedia event. Making its debut outside Montreal, where it first launched in 2019, Illumi will feature over 20 million LED lights in stunning, larger-than-life structures. Highlights include ‘The Jurassic Kingdom’ with dinosaur light structures, ‘The Illumi Tree of Light,’ which is the tallest illuminated tree, and a gorgeous carousel. The best part? This fully interactive exhibition allows guests to climb the structures, take plenty of photos, and let little ones run around freely to explore! Tickets are available from 30 July on TremTix and Pelago.

Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience

Following successful runs in Milan, USA, Brussels and London, Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience will be making its Asia-Pacific debut in Singapore on 31 August! Dive into a whimsical world of bubbles through 11 themed areas. These include a VR room, an undersea LED room, a bubble bath ball pit and more. There will also be interactive areas and a robot-led bubble show! The waitlist is already open, and the first 1,000 ticket buyers can enjoy a 20% early bird discount!

Disney Cruise Coming to SG in 2025

VroomTown Opens: Playground + Driving Circuit

This month, the newest indoor playground for kids is VroomTown at Marina Square, a mega drive-play academy with a circuit featuring Singapore icons. Kids will get to cruise through a realistic city driving experience with traffic lights and a drive-through then break a sweat at the indoor playground with climbing structures, slides, ball pits and more. Tickets are $48 for a beginner child entry, $38 for licensed child drivers (includes 1 free adult entry) and $15 for additional adults.

Films at the Fort Returns to Fort Canning Park

Glenfiddich Films At The Fort makes a return to Fort Canning Park for its 10th anniversary from 1 to 18 August 2024. A premier open-air cinema showing award-winning films with gourmet food and cocktails, Films At The Fort is one of the hottest social events in town. Catch Bob Marley: One Love on 1st August at 7:45pm, a biographical drama celebrating the life of this musical icon; enjoy a heart-pounding action-packed movie The Fall Guy on 3rd August at 7:45pm, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt and more.

Singapore Night Festival Returns on 23 August

We’re so excited that the Singapore Night Festival will return for it’s 15th edition on 23 August. This year’s theme is the Art of Play and features amusement park rides, old school game stalls and nostalgia-themed food and beverages. Stretching from its traditional two-weekend format to a three-weekend extravaganza, visitors will be treated to an exciting line-up of programmes including dynamic projection mappings, Night Lights installations and more. Plus, look out for a xinyao singalong – another festival first – and refuel with a feast at five festival villages!

New Play:Date Exhibition at National Museum Singapore

New Insta-worthy Installation at National Gallery Singapore

Be captivated by National Gallery Singapore’s newest large-scale kinetic mural, where over 114,000 shimmering discs reflect the sunlight accompanied by a wind chime to create multi-sensory experience for visitors of all ages. Created by New Zealander contemporary artist Lisa Reihana, GLISTEN’s vibrant tapestry features intricate patterns that pay homage to the traditions of Indigenous women weavers from Māori and Southeast Asian cultures.

Canopy Garden Village Opens: new pet-friendly cafe

Fur-parents, rejoice! There’s another pet-friendly cafe you can add to the list, so you have more places to hang out with your furbaby and meet other fur-parents too. Canopy has just opened its newest location at Esplanade Mall, where you can indulge in delicious food like Lobster Bisque, Canopy Cheeseburger, Soft Shell Crab Pasta and more, while enjoying beautiful cityscape views by the bay for perfect photo-ops with your pet.
