Stamford American International School welcomes newly appointed Superintendent, Matt Mills, a dad of two who brings 40 years of educational experience, global leadership and a passion for the arts. Find out how he plans to take Stamford American to new heights.
The leadership of a school sets the trajectory for the future success of their teachers and students. Stamford American International School is excited to introduce their new Superintendent, Mr. Matt Mills, who has led schools across the globe including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Munich and Bangkok, to name a few. Having grown up on the Pacific atoll of Western Samoa with parents who were school heads, Mr. Mills intimately understands the value of education and a supportive, global community. After all, he has two sons of his own, who are university graduates from Melbourne.
With a Bachelor of Education from Massey University in New Zealand and a Master of Science in Education from Walden University in the U.S.A, Mr. Mills brings extensive expertise in empowering educators to help students achieve and even surpass their academic goals. He was also a former Gifted and Talented Coordinator in Hong Kong, where he worked with 300 students aged 2 to 17 years old.
In addition to expertise in education, Mr. Mills also has an enthusiasm for the arts, which began in his high school years. He sang in numerous school musicals, trained in opera singing and eventually directed a successful school musical in New Zealand during his first year of teaching. Throughout his career, he has consistently integrated the arts into the classroom and beyond to foster creativity and freedom of expression among his students.
