Isn’t it mindboggling to think of the amazing variety that Singapore has to offer when it comes to choosing a brunch venue? Practically every place worth its salt does a version of Sunday brunch, and choosing where to go can seem more trouble than its worth sometimes. Don’t worry, mama, I have the most gorgeous lazy Sunday Champagne brunch for you and the family – perfectly luxurious!
Located on the 32nd floor of the Westin Singapore, Brunch Beats is your must-visit venue to kick back and toast to the weekend with free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne and indulgent bites against breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline. Priced at just $158++ per adult with freeflow Champagne, wines and selected cocktails (or $108++ with soft drinks and juices and $54++ for little ones from 4-12 years with free-flow juices), Brunch Beats offers a stupendous setting for a leisurely Sunday brunch with great tipples, be it with friends, family or just as a couple.
Even if you’re bored of Champagne and wine, you’re in for a treat, as the resident mixologist makes up the most potent Mojitos and fiery Bloody Marys we’ve had in a long time! It’s not every day that one admits this, but we enjoyed these delicious cocktails even more than the unlimited Champagne!
Another brownie point goes to the total absence of any lines at the buffets, eliminating the usual compulsion to quickly rush to another station before it’s all gone! A brunch experience here is nothing if not laid-back and soothing; you’re totally in charge of your time. While there seem to be fewer food stations with slightly less variety compared to other Champagne brunches in town, the name of the game is quality not quantity; there’s still a ridiculous amount of tasty food on offer, making for a nice change to the somewhat repetitive cycles that we’ve all seen and done before.
If you’re a ‘sea-foodie’, head directly to the fresh seafood counter, where usual favourites like steamed lobsters, glistening crabs, prawns, oysters and mussels stand out amongst other oceanic morsels. Don’t worry – the healthy salad can wait. But if cold seafood isn’t your thing, go for something slightly different with the hot Prawn Thermidor – the baby version of a Lobster Thermidor if you will – but every bit as addictive and delicious.
Meat lovers will salivate over the satisfying fill of tender roasts at the Roasted Meats station. Indulge in the Steak à la minute Service, where steaks are prepared to order in any cut and doneness you desire, served complete with steak fries! We highly recommend the Cooked Ham and the grilled Cornish Hen – served with your choice of sides such as mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables and sautéed asparagus. Enjoy the extensive array of cheese and charcuterie, complete with dried fruits, nuts, a variety of honey and breads. You’d be forgiven for never wanting to leave.
For a sweet ending, indulge in decadent treats like chocolate mousse, bread and butter pudding, cheesecakes and many other delicious creations. Instead of the usual ice cream, Brunch Beats offers gelato instead – we highly recommend the coconut and the dark chocolate! And yes, there is fresh fruit too in case you were worried about everything being too rich! For a spin on the usual chocolate fountain, try dipping strawberries and marshmallows in ever-changing fountain flavors such as matcha, raspberry, rose and strawberry. Indulge in the Frozey Dozey − custom frozen yoghurt concoctions, prepared on a frozen granite stone – much like the Marble Slab Creamery style. Choose a healthy frozen yoghurt flavor and throw in yummy toppings such as chocolate balls, granola and nuts. Delicious!
So Mama, the next time you’re in the mood to treat yourself to something decadent, head up to Brunch Beats. We’d happily go back just for the Mojitos and the view alone!
Brunch Beats is priced at $158++ per person with free-flow wine, selected cocktails and Veuve Clicquot Champagne; $108++ with soft drinks and juices; and $54++ for little ones from 4-12 years with free-flow juices.
