Le Binchotan is hidden in a back alley near Club Street behind foodie mecca Amoy Street with décor reminiscent of a timber bunker, making it a great spot for a romantic tête-à-tête (there are no windows so it is very discreet). Chef-owner Jeremy Chiam has designed a French-Japanese menu here. He uses French techniques and the centuries-old method of Japanese grilling over binchotan, so dishes have a range of smokiness to them (without any of the burnt char taste).
