IMM Shopping Mall: Playground and Water Play

Playgrounds that encourage climbing, sliding, crawling and running around always score a big thumbs up in my book. Playgrounds with adequate shade get the double thumbs up and are a real bonus find in Singapore.

As you can tell, I spend more than my fair share of time at the playground!

It’s a symptom of apartment living. The toddler and I literally go nuts if we don’t get outside everyday. Playgrounds are our saviour and a great way for the toddler to satisfy his need for a good run around.

The playground at IMM Shopping Mall in Jurong East is one of my new favourites. As well as the huge playground all under shade, right next to the park is a large water play area.

The water play area is designed to be interactive, with the kids being able to control the water fountains by hand. There are plenty of watermills and spraying flowers for the kids to enjoy and with rubber floors there shouldn’t be any slipping or sliding either.

The biggest down side I found however, was that there wasn’t any shade over the water play area so expect a whole lot of sun. You will need sunscreen and lots of it!

Since arriving in early 2011, Sarah set out to explore the Lion City in search of the perfect cappuccino (for her) and playground (for the toddler). All this exploring – combined with her moderate addiction for online media – lead to the Little Notebook blog, Sarah’s very own corner of the web, where she shares her ideas for enjoying family life in Singapore. In between blogging and child wrangling you’ll find Sarah writing for various online publications – like right here at Sassy Mama!
