GIIS takes another step toward its goal of nurturing global citizens with a new Chinese-English Bilingual Programme for Grades 1 to 5 that will launch in August 2020. We love that the programme will be closely aligned to the IB PYP framework, with dedicated classes for students striving to become bilingual in English and Mandarin. This is just the latest from this K-12 international school with locations in Punggol and East Coast that also offer Cambridge and IBDP to its 3,000 students of 42 different nationalities.
Thanks to its state-of-the-art flagship campus’s high-tech capabilities, GIIS has seamlessly become a “Virtual School” during the Circuit Breaker period. In fact it’s one of the few international schools in Singapore that’s been able to offer a virtual school day that runs during regular school hours from 9am to 3:30pm. On top of all that, GIIS’s school fees are well-priced at $21,229 (US$15,000) year; talk about value for money!

With 1.31 billion speakers worldwide, Mandarin is by far the most spoken language on Earth. Families that recognize the role China plays in the world economy can give their children a definite boost in their global future by exposing them to bilingual education, ideally from as young an age as possible. In addition to better career and education prospects, bilingualism has also been shown to stimulate cognitive growth in young children along with boosting their motor skills.
All of this is the impetus for the new English-Chinese Bilingual Primary School programme at Invictus’s brand new Centrium campus, which is scheduled to open in August 2020. The programme will run from Grade 1 Prep (age 5) through Grade 6 (age 11), and will be reasonably priced at $15,000 per year (+ GST). Besides formal instruction, students will be immersed in Chinese through music, art and physical education. The Centrium campus will also house Invictus’s new secondary school, which offers the IGCSE in preparation for the prestigious A-Levels.
