Kids party entertainment to the rescue – balloons and face painting galore with Happier Singapore
As my son’s 5th birthday party approached, we decided to host his party at our condo’s pool for the third time since moving to Singapore – simply because it’s a win-win for the birthday boy/fish as well as for us parents! I turned to my go-to pretty party supplies shop Glittering Eyes for decorations and placed a few online grocery orders to take care of the F&B part and picked up a sturdy piñata (from Harvest Well) which I stuffed with 1 kilo of candy knowing that this party trick would keep kids entertained for some time. But how else to entertain a bunch of kids? A friend told me about the magical Alicia of Happier Singapore and I knew I wanted to test the waters with kids birthday party entertainment.
Happier Singapore was founded by Alicia Lye, a psychologist turned professional artist-entertainer. Alicia is a self-taught face/body painter and balloon artist. This kids party planner holds true to the philosophy that happiness starts from within the family! Alicia showed up with an attentive smile and an abundance of patience. Within no time she brought calm to the chaos of sugar high kids and had them queue up without a peep while taking the time to ask, pump and twist a balloon creation per child. The children were clearly mesmerized with their dinosaurs, tiaras, angry birds, guitars, shooters, bunnies and much more!
After every child got one (in some cases even two) nifty balloons, Alicia opened her face painting palettes and painted the eager little faces as the most beautiful butterflies, Pikachus, Spidermen, Moana flowers, rainbow tigers and unicorns. The little painted faces looked amazing and the children could not stop looking at one another, or in the mirror! My two kiddos refused to wash their faces before bedtime.
Alicia definitely twisted and painted my son’s party beyond my own imagination! Thanks Alicia!
