1. COMO Adventure Grove: Outdoor playground at Singapore Botanic Gardens

The COMO Adventure Grove outdoor playground is inspired by the distinctive parts of trees found within the Botanic Gardens. A 10m banyan tree structure made with steel posts hand-painted to look like bark texture, takes pride place at COMO Adventure Grove playground.

Climb to the top of the 5.8m banyan tree tower via netted ropes for ace views, have a go on the swings and hammocks! Then zoom down two long tube slides at 4m and 2.1m long, designed for speed and thrills! Head to a cafe within the Botanic Gardens for refreshments afterwards.

You can only access the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden playgrounds in Bukit Timah if you’re coming with kids making this a super safe space. There is so much to love about this corner of Singapore Botanic Gardens, from the classic giant treehouse slides within the outdoor playgrounds (set in a giant sand pit with lots of lush shade), to the kid-friendly fare at Little Spot, to all of the new additions including a zip line, an accessible trampoline, and an educational canopy walkway.

In fact at four hectares, Jacob Ballas is officially the largest children’s garden in Asia! Opening hours are 8am to 7pm (last admission is at 6:30pm – entry is free of charge), but do note this playground in Bukit Timah is closed on Mondays.

The Far East Organization Children’s Garden at Gardens by the Bay serves up a combination of water play with fun fountains and a shady adventure outdoor playground with treehouses, rope walks and a 130m nature trail. This outdoor playground is definitely one to bring your swimsuit along to (there’s a water playground for older kids and one for toddlers too). The park is closed every Monday to Wednesday; opening hours are Thursday to Sunday from 9am to 7pm (last admission at 6pm).

4. Toa Payoh Dragon Playground: Iconic playground in Singapore

Toa Payoh Dragon Playground has to be one of THE most iconic outdoor playgrounds in Singapore! The dragon head is tiled with terrazzo and tiles while the body is made of colourfully-painted steel rings which children can climb through.

It’s the use of these terrazzo tiles that gives this playground its mosaic aesthetic that has become a trademark look depicting old Singapore. This free outdoor playground offers some climbing fun, a slide and a sandpit to dig around in. We reckon it’s worth heading here for some selfies for nostalgia’s sake!

5. Toa Payoh Lorong 4 Playground: Playground in Toa Payoh

Nestled in the middle of HDB blocks, this playground features four different slides, a tube slide, a play tower and unique shadow play elements. The Shadow Play creates different shadows depending on how bright the sun is. There are swings and a see-saw for kids too.

Toa Payoh Crest Playground is located in the heart of  Toa Payoh’s latest housing estate, and you’ll immediately fall in love with the spacious play areas. 7. Bidadari Park: Bird’s nest-themed adventure playground

This bird’s nest-themed playground is super fun for kids aged 7 to 12 years old. With towering climbing nets and steep slides, this playground is sure to help your child get sweaty while loading up on vitamin D. There’s also a flying fox so the kids can get an adrenaline rush. Parents can rest and keep an eye on the kids while staying cool under the shaded area. Just be sure to put on sunscreen and bring lots of water to stay hydrated!

Play @ Heights Park is an outdoor playground and water play area set within the HDB of Toa Payoh Lorong 2. The water playground consists of a ship structure with water jets that kids can aim and ‘fire’ (so don’t stand too close, parents!). There’s a fun water channel to navigate the water with mini sliding gates – bring your own toy boats to sail! There’s also a sand pit with swings, a zipline/flying fox and if you walk further down, there are a few more connecting playgrounds.

There’s a toddler playground with a soft padded floor, a race track for scooters and tricycles, a large climbing structure with slides which is the main outdoor playground and a trampoline area! The Toa Payoh Water Play Park and the outdoor playground have some outdoor shower stalls where kids can rinse off before and after going to the water play area.

9. Gillman Barracks: Outdoor playground in Singapore

Visiting Gillman Barracks for brunch with the kids? make a pitstop at this playground beside Carpark A, in front of Block 9. Climb the tower via the climbing wall or cargo net, zoom down two slides, or come down via the fireman’s pole! Then navigate the balancing beam and have a go on the swings. See our video here.

10. Jubilee Park Outdoor Playground: Fort Canning Park playground

This outdoor playground at Jubilee Park in River Valley is conveniently located right next to Fort Canning MRT Station and within walking distance of the CBD, Orchard and Clarke Quay. Highlights include multiple swing sets, a see-saw, a log scramble and sand pits, a “treehouse” and climbing nets, and two big slides (one of which is long and tall enough to be a bit scary for toddlers).

Do note that there is no shelter from the sun and the outdoor playground can get extremely hot and sunny at midday. There’s lots of kid-friendly food in nearby Robertson Quay!

11. Tiong Bahru Train Outdoor Playground: Tiong Bahru Park playground

This old school adventure outdoor playground is a total classic! Kids of all ages will go crazy for the tilting train that features a series of climbing tunnels (it can be a bit scary for kiddos under 3, though). You’ll also find multiple slides, swings, a flying fox, and a spinning merry-go-round. Be sure to bring buckets and spades, as there’s lots of sand play area for digging and sand castle building, too.

The outdoor playground is in the middle of Tiong Bahru Park, which is fairly compact but has a lovely gazebo, some big steps for climbing, and a few paths that are perfect for scooting. Watch our video here.

12. Tanjong Pagar Eco Outdoor Playground: Open-ended play space

Discover Tanjong Pagar Community Green has an Eco Outdoor Playground within its sprawling 1,650sqm space. This outdoor play area doesn’t have the traditional climbing structures, swings or play equipment, but it’s more of an open expanse for kids (and furkids) to run around in with some fun structures available for open-ended play.

13. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park: Outdoor playground in Singapore

Bishan-Ang Mo Kio has a spacious outdoor playground nestled between the Kallang River and a little pond featuring lots of sand, six big kids’ swings, a climbing frame and two tunnel slides. There’s also a pirate-ship playground structure that’s fun for littlies. Thumbs up for the fact that this outdoor playground is mostly shaded, too! NB: There are actually multiple outdoor playgrounds within the park; the inclusive outdoor playground is on the eastern side of the park.

This is not just a fun place for kids to unwind, but it also sparks the kids’ imagination as they get to role play through various modes of transport like a ship, mini train, and of course, the hot air balloon! This exciting playground is not totally outdoors – it is attached to Great World City shopping mall however it is still open air (and may be closed in bad weather).

This playground, inspired by popular children’s story ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ features whimsical designs for traditional playground elements like slides, seesaws, climbing platforms, and a trampoline.

The playground at SkyResidences @ Dawson has something for everyone! Older kids can test their balance on the trampoline, while little ones can climb up and down the undulating play hills.

There are also plenty of climbing ropes, rings and structures, where kids can test their strength, coordination and endurance as they swing their way through the obstacle courses. This playground also features a Treehouse that sits under an Angsana tree that is almost 10 storeys high!

Your little adventure sprouts can explore the netted trampolines and climbing nets that are safely constructed with support from the green anchors. The playground also has other climbing obstacles, including a hammock and a swing!

18. Whampoa Park Playground: Obstacle course playground

Located in the heart of Whampoa, the Whampoa Park playground features a slew of exciting activities, including an exciting Ninja Obstacle course for the older kids, swings, see-saws, and a pet park for the doggos.

This forest-themed playground in Singapore also includes a Treehouse where kids can head up to the canopy level through different obstacles, from a ladder to a climbing net. The treehouse also features mini rock-climbing stations and massive slides from its canopy, so be sure to look out for the little ones here!

Head down to Sentosa Cove Village and let kiddos explore this pirate-themed outdoor playground with the beautiful backdrop of the Marina. Your kids want to visit a playground but the parents just want to enjoy a weekend walk by the sea? Do both at this outdoor playground in Labrador Park. Enjoy the beautiful coastal views while the little ones run around the small play area near the Dragon’s Tooth Gate which has swings, a see-saw and even a merry-go-round.

Coastal PlayGrove is a free outdoor playground located at the former Big Splash East Coast Park. Coastal PlayGrove boasts the tallest outdoor play feature in town – it’s 16 metres high – with fun climbing net challenges for older kids (13 years+), a nature playgarden with sandpits and teepees, and a water play area. There are two slides at this playground, the first slide is 7.3 metres tall but the second slide is a whopping 11.9 m tall with a little loop in it (best for 13-year-olds and above).

22. East Coast Park Playground: Marine Cove Playground

East Coasters rejoiced when this huge outdoor playground opened in East Coast Park in 2016. There are both big kids and toddler play areas, and all manner of cool climbing structures, swings (including multiple accessible swings) and slides.

The highlight at this playground is the 8-meter high lighthouse tower that’s accessed by various rope ladders (and features 3 slides to get down). We also give a thumbs up for the handy kids’ toilets and showers on the premises, and have a feeling your children will love the adjacent McDonald’s… Fair warning though, this outdoor playground can get very crowded on weekends!

23. Dakota Breeze: Aeroplane-themed Playground

The Parkside outdoor playground is located between PLQ3 and the residences, and is right next to kid friendly cafe Jimmy Monkey – perfect for enjoying a coffee and nibbles while the kids climb, enjoy the swings and run around at the padded playground! It gets pretty hot at midday, but becomes shaded from about 3pm. Highly recommend for playdates so mamas can chat over coffee without worry while the kiddos play nearby!

Tampines Green Forest Park is a massive outdoor playground in the East! The high-up cargo nets are the highlight of this play area surrounded by Tampines Green Forest Residences. There are three sections – a large outdoor playground structure, a tall tower with cargo nets and a huge slide plus another outdoor playground with a sandpit and smaller climbing structures and slides for younger kids.

Tampines Boulevard Park (West) is the newest kid on the block in Tampines. This massive 4.78-hectare park has plenty of space for kids to run around. The playground is located in the middle of the park. While it’s not the largest, it’s got plenty to keep the kids entertained. Pasir Ris Mall is the newest mall in the east, and it’s already buzzing as the new go-to spot for hangouts! Their free outdoor playground on Level 2 gives families with little ones just another reason to head down here. There is plenty to do here from a sensory wall and hammock swings to seesaws and trampolines; big and little kids will have a ball of a time! Plus, since it’s located right next to Pasir Ris MRT, kids can also watch MRT trains come and go. Watch our video here.

With a whopping 26 slides – as well as swings, climbing structures, and separate areas for toddlers and big kids – Admiralty Park outdoor playground in Woodlands is hands-down one of the coolest outdoor playgrounds in Singapore.

You could easily spend a few hours here (we certainly have!), and there are also convenient amenities like kiddie sinks and toilets, nice wide paths for scooting, and a Shiok Garden grill buffet adjacent to the parking lot (in case the kiddos get hungry).

31. Sembawang Park: Battleship outdoor playground

Reflecting the rich naval history of Sembawang (there are also lots of gorgeous black and white houses in the ‘hood to admire en route), this super cool battleship-themed outdoor playground rates for its expansive sand pit and challenging climbing activities (there are lots of ropes and ladders – perfect for aspiring pirates!). Facing the Straits of Johor, Sembawang Park has a small beach and you can even see Malaysia in the distance.

32. Marsiling Park Playground: Nature Play Garden

Formerly named Woodlands Town Garden, Marsiling Park now boasts a one-of-a-kind butterfly-shaped playground! There are nets, climbing structures, slides and a fitness corner, overlooking the picturesque Marsiling Park pond with accessible boardwalks for a nice stroll. There’s Teh Tarik Cartel on site if you get peckish – think local dishes, with a huge drinks menu (perfect for quenching your thirst after some playground time!).

Circle Green Park in Woodlands Circle is a stretch of greenery and playground sandwiched among HDB blocks. If you simply drove past you’d never guess that it’s home to one of the biggest net outdoor playgrounds in Singapore! This playground is about 3 storeys high with a massive slide, bridge and climbing nets, so it’s best suited for older kids.

There are also two other outdoor playgrounds nearby that are great for younger ones. For food, walk down for about 10 minutes to Woodlands Mart (768 Woodlands Ave 6, Singapore 730768) where there are two food courts, a few convenience shops and a McDonald’s.

34. Woodlands Waterfront Park Playground: Views of the Johor Strait

On the chance that Admiralty Park is crowded, drive a little down the road and you’ll find Woodlands Waterfront Park around the corner! Woodlands Waterfront Park is a lovely coastal park in Woodlands that offers amazing sea views and is so close to Johor, Malaysia (you can even see the Singapore-Malaysia border from the jetty!). We love coming here at sunset!

The Woodlands Waterfront Park playground has two-storey high climbing nets, playground swings and small slides for younger ones. There’s Rasa Istimewa Restaurant on site (halal) offering Malay and fusion food, delicious satay and icy desserts.

You’ll likely see this dragon playground in Woodlands from the street, before you even reach it. A neighbourhood icon, the Block 852 Woodlands Playground is home to another iconic dragon! It’s got plenty of ropes for kids who love to climb and scope out the street below. There are also Chinese zodiac animal sculptures in the vicinity which the young ones will love.

Located in Woodlands, this cosy dinosaur-themed playground houses life-sized structures of the dinosaurs with climbing stilts and fireman slides, making it a suitable play space for toddlers.

Northpoint City has wet water park and dry playgrounds at Level 4, water slides and a water-dunking machine perfect for beating the tropical heat. The little ones will love the water features, jets and fountains in this aquatic-themed playground in Singapore.

When you’re done having fun, there are shower facilities to get the kids cleaned up after a day of splashing good time! Do note that the playground is closed every first Monday of the month for maintenance works.

This playground is a short walk from Khatib MRT station – you’ll spot it from its colourful houses built on stilts. There are two sets of playhouses with fun slides, tunnels, climbing nets and swings, where little ones can burn off their energy. There are even mini trampolines built into the ground that kids will love. While the kids run around, parents can sit back and enjoy the view of an open football field and the lush greenery.

Since the dry and wet play areas are right next to each other it’s all bound to get wet and the playground may be a bit slippery.

Anchorvale Village features two playgrounds where kiddos can run around, climb and burn off their energy. Sadly, the outdoor playground on level 3 for kids aged two to five is exclusively for the Unicorn Preschool.

However, the outdoor playground on level 4 is for kids aged six to 12 and has a super cool climbing net that leads to a birdwatching patio. There are five slides here, so kids don’t have to fight over who gets to whizz down the slide first!

Sengkang Riverside Park has the Punggol Reservoir running through it, making it a lovely spot for an early morning or late afternoon stroll. The Sengkang Riverside Park playground (also called Kidzpatch playground) is a great size for younger kids, with a few slides, swings, bridges and climbing structures. There’s also a sandpit!

Nestled within one of the newer HDB estates in the northeast is a bird-themed outdoor playground. Rivervale Shores features three exciting playgrounds for kids aged two to 12 years old featuring plenty of climbing nets, slides, swings and in-ground trampolines. Kids can climb into a pod that resembles a bird’s nest and whizz down the slide at the speed of light, while younger ones can build sandcastles at the sand pit. Watch our video here.

This playground in Singapore takes inspiration from Kampung Lorong Buangkok, which is actually Singapore’s last remaining kampung village! Here, kids can explore the little houses perched on bouncy springs. There are also rabbit burrow holds, perfect for playing hide and seek.

If you look closely, there are large brown structures, which are used to mimic fishing poles. The brown structures also hold hammock swings for kids who prefer to lounge after playtime!

The nature-inspired outdoor playgrounds at Lakeside Garden have fun structures to climb on, swing from and slide down – there’s so much for kids of all ages. Officially this outdoor play area is for kids aged 5 to 12 years old, but younger kids will have fun here too. Clusia Cove is the park’s water play area and when you’re hungry there’s Fusion Spoon cafe for casual Western and Asian food. Do note that Forest Ramble playground and Clusia Cove are closed on Mondays.

This playground in the west of Singapore was revamped in 2019 as part of the neighbourhood renewal programme, and we can’t deny how this playground instantly adds colour to this mature estate! This playground is also the 2017 LIAS award-winning Play Curl playground, and kids can explore through the different crawling, climbing, sliding features and more. Kids who love their fire trucks will have a field day at the Boon Lay Glade playground. Built at a refurbised fire station tower that spans seven storeys high, this playground is all about firetrucks and emergency vehicles. There are three playgrounds in total, with play structures suitable for kids of all ages. 49. Choa Chu Kang Playground: The Arena @ Keat Hong

Choa Chu Kang Playground, also known as The Arena @ Keat Hong, makes waves for its three amazing outdoor playgrounds in one sprawling space. With a stunning treehouse-like tower, massive slides, pirate ship play equipment and swings, there’s something fun for children of all ages in each of the three playgrounds. The first outdoor playground is pirate-themed with slides and lower climbing structures suitable for kids aged two to five.

Look out for merry-go-rounds and also parent-child swings at this playground. The other two playgrounds at The Arena @ Keat Hong are more suitable for older kids with massive slides, towers, cargo nets and climbing equipment. You’ll also find lots of sports facilities at The Arena @ Keat Hong from Pétanque to volleyball, basketball and more!

50. West Coast Park Playground: Huge outdoor playground in the West

West Coast outdoor playground is huge with lots of different subsections to play at – kiddos highly rate the giant climbing pyramid at its centrepiece! There’s also a pirate ship playground with swings and a sandpit, a separate inclusive outdoor playground, and no less than four flying foxes. The park also has a nice wide-open expanse for kite flying, bicycling tracks and even karting! Consider yourself warned that there’s a McDonald’s nearby (decent for coffee!).

51. Bukit Batok Playground: Long tube slide & climbing nets

Bukit Batok outdoor playground has bright yellow swirling tube slides to whizz down, and a smaller green outdoor playground geared towards preschoolers with its short slide, easy climbing structure and shaded mini den.

Also look out for the small balancing obstacle course where kiddos can try to navigate while hanging on the ropes! When the kids have finished playing, take a stroll along the stunning elevated boardwalk that leads towards the summit point at the peak of Bukit Batok Neighbourhood Park.
