This year’s National Day Parade is promising to be a big one! With the theme ‘Together, As One United People,’ the 2024 NDP will celebrate Singapore’s 59th birthday with parades at two venues on 9 August—the Padang and the Promontory @ Marina Bay. This means stunning fireworks displays across both areas, promising some of the biggest NDP fireworks yet. Plus, the festivities will extend beyond 9 August with NDP events at heartland locations around the island. What makes this year even more exciting is the introduction of new segments, including a ‘war fighting’ air-land-sea display! Here’s what to expect at NDP 2024, from crowd favourites like the Red Lions, the Presidential Gun Salute, fireworks, and much more.

NDP 2024 in the Heartlands
Every year, Singaporeans look forward to exciting NDP celebrations all over the heartlands during the National Day weekends. This year, NDP 2024 brings the festivities to five heartland locations on 10 August 2024, each with a unique theme. Head to the open field opposite Bishan Circle Line MRT station for “Unity in Diversity”, the Waterway Point for “One HOME”, FutsalArena @ Yishun for “Moving Forward, Cherishing Our Past”, Paya Lebar Quarter 1 for “Lights Up, Power Up” and Buona Vista MRT Station for “Heart ToGather”.
NDP 2024 Heartland celebrations will feature carnival games, family activities, live performances, static displays of SAF, SCDF, and SPF vehicles, and fireworks! This year, look forward to interactive activities with a local twist.
You can now collect tickets (maximum of two tickets per person) for the celebration closest to your community at your nearest community club on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees will also receive NDP 2024 fun packs, but only a limited number are available, so be sure to arrive early to snag them while stocks last!

NDP 2024 at the Padang and the Promontory @ Marina Bay
There will be two venues to celebrate NDP 2024, the Padang and the Promontory @ Marina Bay. The main parade will be held at the Padang, and viewers can expect immersive programmes that extend from the Padang to Marina Bay. Look forward to crowd favourite programmes such as the Red Lions, State Flag Flypast, the Presidential Gun Salute and more. There will also be a few firsts at NDP 2024, including the new Total Defence 40 Dynamic Defence Display, which will feature an exciting air-land-sea display to depict a whole-of-government and community response to various threats and disruptions against the nation. Also to be performed for the first time at NDP 2024 will be the Onward March, where parade contingents will march onto the spectator stands, giving the viewers a more immersive experience.

National Day Parade 2024 at The Padang & the Promontory @ Marina Bay
When: 9 August 2024, timing TBC (firework timings: around 8pm onwards)
Where: The Padang & the Promontory @ Marina Bay
Even though NDP 2024’s main venue is at the Padang, where most of the programmes will be held, viewers at the Promontory @ Marina Bay will get to enjoy the Total Defence 40 Dynamic Defence Display live, as this segment will take place at both venues. There will also be a sail-past by the President Gun Salute, along with stage performances and a live telecast of the NDP 2024 at the Padang.
NDP 2024 will incorporate exciting new technologies, including wrist-worn LEDs and extended multimedia screens. Additionally, a 360-degree experience of the NDP fireworks will be set up in the areas around the Padang and Marina Bay. This ensures that viewers at the Padang, the Promontory @ Marina Bay, and the surrounding areas will have a stunning view of the fireworks, no matter where they are in the vicinity.

NDP 2024 Flypasts
If you’re planning to watch the parade from the comfort of your home, good news! You might still catch the state flag flypast and F-16 jets making their rounds in the heartlands. The Fly Our Flag segment is a highly anticipated part of NDP each year, allowing viewers who are unable to attend the parade to still experience the NDP 2024 celebrations by spotting the majestic jets and helicopters in several neighbourhoods across Singapore.
There will be two routes for the NDP 2024 flypast featuring helicopters with the state flag. The western route will include Woodlands, Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok, Jurong, and West Coast, while the eastern route will cover Seletar, Sengkang, Punggol, Pasir Ris, Bedok, and East Coast.
In addition to the helicopters, six F-16 jets will also make their flypast over locations such as Clementi, Jurong West, Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok, Woodlands, Toa Payoh, Seletar, Punggol, and Bendemeer.

National Day Concert 2024 @ Gardens by The Bay
The Gardens by The Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert is back for its sixth edition this year, with plenty of activities to celebrate Singapore’s 59th birthday. NTUC x NDP Bay Celebrations
NTUC will be hosting its first large-scale NDP event as part of the extended National Day Parade 2024 celebrations at the Promontory @ Marina Bay. This event, NTUC’s biggest in over a decade, will take place on 3 and 9 August and will consist of live musical performances, a live broadcast of the NDP 2024, the state flag flypast, the “Salute to the Nation” bomb burst by the Republic of Singapore Air Force, the presidential gun salute sail-past, the Total Defence 40 dynamic defence display’s high-speed chase, and a fireworks display. Attendees will receive an NDP fun pack, and there will be a photo booth, interactive installations, and more. More info here.

National Day 2024 Celebrations at One Punggol
Good news for north-easties, because plenty of National Day celebrations are popping up! Celebrations will take place on two separate days with plenty of activities for the whole family. On 3 August, look forward to various activities, including stage performances, craft workshops that include making your very own Merlion plushies, movie screenings, arcade games and even bouncy castles! There’ll also be a sing-along segment, where you can show your patriotism by singing to your favourite NDP tunes. On 9 August, there’ll be plenty of live screening of NDP 2024. However, the highlight would have to be the State Flag Flypast and the Six F-16s Flypast that’ll pass through the Punggol district! Stay tuned to One Punggol’s Facebook page for updates!

MAJULAH FIESTA 2024: National Day Celebrations at Singapore Sports Hub
