Summary
Hillside World Academy (HWA) aspires to be a global institution that integrates the discipline and rigour of Eastern pedagogy, with the inquiring, creative, and collaborative values of Western pedagogy, via the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. Our vision, mission and guiding statements reflect what we stand for and aspire to be as a whole school, and can be observed in all aspects of school life from activities in the classroom, to excursions outside of campus, to the curricula, even to the way we communicate with one another in our tight-knit community in Singapore.

Application & Deadline
STEP 1
Download a PDF of the Admissions Application Form here or below. Complete the Admissions Application Form, prepare supporting documents following the checklist below, and submit all documents along with the payment of a one-time application fee.
STEP 2
HWA’s Office of Admissions will arrange for an interview and/or entrance test for applicants to ensure appropriate grade and class placement. The entrance test comprises a math test, an English proficiency test, or both. Applicants will need to sit for the English test if they do not meet the required standard of English—that is, a score of 4.5 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and/or a score of 400 for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Please note that the results of the test(s) are absolute, and appeals will not be considered.
STEP 3
The review of applications will take about 1 to 3 working days, and if approved, a Letter of Offer will be sent to welcome students and parents to the HWA community. Before making any other payment to HWA, students, parents or guardians will first need to sign the Council for Private Education in Singapore’s Standard PEI Contract, which can found on their website
STEP 4 (For Singaporean Applicants)
For applicants holding a Singapore passport, please note that an additional step is required. After receiving HWA’s Letter of Offer, you will need to submit a letter and a School History Sheet to the MOE to request for an approval before starting school at HWA. This applies to students aged 6 or older. Applicants to the Nursery and Kindergarten programmes are exempted from this step.
