EatPost Category - EatEat

Looking for a special gift? Say it with chocolates! Here are some of the best chocolates in Singapore for gifting, from bean-to-bar creations to chocolate truffle gift boxes

If you ask us, every day of the year is the right time for chocolate. But all chocolates are not created equal; supermarket chocolate brands might be ok to satiate a late-night craving, but when it comes to Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Christmas it’s worth stepping up your game for one of the following artisanal chocolate brands (partners take note!). From limited-edition bonbons to chocolate truffles and much more – here’s the best of the best, when it comes to high-end chocolates! And best of all, most of these gourmet chocolate brands offer online ordering – so no excuses!

Our fave chocolate brands for gifting:

Lemuel Chocolate

Lemuel Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate house with humble beginnings. The founder, Ronald Ng, has been in love with chocolate all his life and finally opened his own small-batch chocolate workshop in August 2017 (and even got his teen daughters involved!). Lemuel Chocolate sources and imports quality cacao beans from cacao farmers and reputable cacao agents around the world. They then manually and carefully sort, roast, crack, winnow and grind them into the individual uniquely delicious chocolate. From single-origin chocolate bars to special chocolate gift boxes and bon bons, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Mr Bucket Chocolaterie

best chocolates in sinagpore

Specialising in housemade artisanal chocolate bon bons and treats, Mr. Bucket uses cacao sourced only within Asia – from family-run cacao farms in Malacca, Malaysia to a cacao plantation in the foothills of the Anamalai Hills in India. Inspired by Roald Dahl’s novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Mr. Bucket conveys its own interpretation of the story through its artisanal chocolate bon bons. Exciting chocolate bon bon flavours include Salted Egg Yolk, Double Soy Caramel, and boozy Mulled Wine. Yum! We love the newly opened chocolate ‘factory’ and cafe in Dempsey too – you can customize your own slab of chocolate here.

Fossa Chocolate

fossa chocolate luxury bars valentine's day christmas

Fossa Chocolate is a local, artisanal bean-to-bar luxury chocolate maker that roasts, cracks and winnows cacao beans and refines them into chocolates right in their very own workshop. Each small batch of chocolate is lovingly handcrafted and totally free of additives. Bonus points for working directly with cacao farmers to source only the highest quality beans, too: we love that some of their exquisite chocolate bars showcase ingredients from nearby farms in Indonesia and the Philippines. Why gift flowers when you can give an oh-so pretty Lychee Rose Dark Milk Chocolate Bar ($12)? And if you can’t decide, we suggest going for the 6-bar Mixed Chocolate Gift Set ($66). If you’re after something really special, they do chocolate customisations too.

This boutique dark chocolate café (dark chocolate is the best kind of chocolate, by the way: it’s rich in antioxidant flavanoids and is thought to help prevent heart disease!) serves up a bevvy of handmade, artisanal, single-origin chocolates, all made right on site in their kitchen! We are downright drooling over their artisanal bonbons, particularly flavours like White Chocolate Rose Tea, Early Grey Peppermint, and Toffee Sea Salt (all 66% dark chocolate). And their bean-to-bar craft dark chocolates are equally gorgeous, too! Swing by their two shops to see their full selection of chocolates, macarons and cookies.

We love the story behind Leela’s, which was started by an Irish chocaholic lawyer-turned-chocolatier after she arrived in Singapore and missed some of her fave sweets from back home. Using the finest European couverture chocolate and natural ingredients (often sourced locally!), Leela’s puts out a range of delectable truffles categorized into four flavour groups: The Classics, Inventions (Cardamom! Rosemary & Olive Oil!), Alcohol (ooh, Guinness and Frangelico Crunch!), and Asia (Chili, Ginger…even Pineapple Tart). She’s also got a super special range of chocolates just for Valentine’s Day, and offers all sorts of cool chocolate products like lollipops, chocolate bars, even edible footwear!
