New month, new finds! This month, tickets for one of our fave events the Hendrick’s Sunset Cinema go on sale! Snag tickets for open-air movies on the beach pronto! We bring you news of the first-ever Songkran Kids Festival at Wild Wild Wet, plus Singapore’s very first Lantern Festival which will feature gastronomic delights, a magical lantern-lit sky and an unforgettable after party. Mean Girls premieres in cinemas on 22 February, there’s a new luxury chocolate shop in town: Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton, MBS, and more!

1. First-ever Songkran Kids Festival at Wild Wild Wet

This April, Wild Wild Wet (WWW) at Downtown East presents Singapore’s first-ever Songkran Kids Festival! For the entire month of April (all days except Tuesdays when the park is closed) from 12pm to 6pm, little ones and their families can look forward to a multitude of activities at WWW, including dance parties and workshops; live DJ performances and try-outs for the kiddos; an epic 25m-long elephant themed inflatable obstacle course; as well as playful water gun shoot-offs. WWW will also transform into a visual spectacle,  with massive colourful, life-size gummy bears decked out in Songkran-inspired pail hats and water guns slung across their backs.

Festival tickets start from $21 for children or $29 for adults; and exclusive kids-only weekend Splash passes are available at $50. Each festival pass includes a limited-edition elephant reusable straw and welcome drink (limited to the first 50 redemptions per day); while Splash Pass holders get an adorable elephant hooded towel, plus other Splash perks such as exclusive access to hair tinsel and air brush tattoo stations! 2. Hendrick’s Sunset Cinema: Open-air movies on the beach

Can’t decide between going to the beach or the movies? Choose both! Enjoy blockbuster films in the open air, beachside with the return of Hendrick’s Sunset Cinema from 25 April to 12 May 2024! If you are new to the scene, expect a huge screen with deck chairs and noise-cancelling headphones. Turn up from 5pm for a sunset drink (a Hendrick’s Gin & Tonic is included in the ticket price!) at the beach bar where nibbles and dinner are available to buy too. A DJ will be playing some tunes to set the atmosphere until the movie starts at 7:45pm. Tickets are now on sale to Hendrick’s Sunset Cinema and the show lineup includes Sofia Coppola’s modern masterpiece Priscilla, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Past Lives nominated Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay at the 2024 Academy Awards. 3. New chocolate shop Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton, MBS

Louis Vuitton has launched Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton, a dedicated chocolate store located in Marina Bay Sands and the first Chocolate Shop by the Maison outside of France. What’s on offer? An assortment of handcrafted luxury chocolates created by award-winning pastry chef, Maxime Frédéric. Drawing inspiration from Louis Vuitton’s iconic house codes, Frédéric employs creative techniques in handcrafting the exquisite chocolate treats. His centrepiece creation – Vivienne on Malle (trunk) is inspired by the Vivienne music box. When set in motion with a simple twist of a chocolate key, Vivienne pirouettes atop a trunk; showcasing the technical prowess and creativity of Maxime Frédéric who has perfected the art of constructing intricate chocolate gear mechanisms.

4. Chef Andre Chiang at Raffles Hotel Singapore

5. SG’s First Sky Lantern Festival

Sentosa is hosting the first-ever Singapore Sky Lantern Festival that promises an unforgettable evening. Start the afternoon with a Music Festival featuring the best from guest celebrity DJ’s favourite R&B, House, EDM, and Pop & Rock tracks. Indulge in a gastronomic selection of local and international food and drinks to refuel. 6. Mean Girls in Cinemas: 22 February 2024

‘On Wednesdays we wear pink!’ The new Mean Girls (2024) film premieres in Singapore on 22 February 2024 (tentatively according to Cathay Cineplexes). The new version of Mean Girls is a musical based on the Broadway musical of the same name, which in turn was based on the Mean Girls 2004 hit comedy film, and written by Tina Fey. Look forward to Angourie Rice as Cady Heron, and Reneé Rapp as Georgina George starring alongside Auliʻi Cravalho, Christopher Briney, Jaquel Spivey, and Bebe Wood. Screenplay writer Tina Fey reprises her role as Ms. Norbury, as well as Tim Meadows as Principal Duvall.

9. K-pop group NewJeans to perform at Nike Orchard

11. Futuristic Spherical Cable Cars at Mount Faber

One of Singapore’s iconic tourist attractions, Mount Faber Cable Car, will be getting an upgrade! Get ready to step into a futuristic spherical cable car cabins with a fully transparent glass bottom that will give you a stunning bird’s eye view of Singapore. These NexGen cable cars will be the fifth version since Mount Faber’s initial cable car launch and will likely continue to attract tourists from all over the world. 12. Luxury Hotel 21 Carpenter to Launch Neo-European Bistro Kee’s

Heritage hotel 21 Carpenter opened its doors in December and offers the perfect blend of heritage and modernity.
